The three photographs below were taken by my father in about 1960/1961 whilst we were living near to Paddington station. The photographs show a London Underground train, and a Western Pullman. I originally posted these photographs on a London-related photo site and was accused of posting pictures of a model railway layout!
The large brick building behind the mainline is the Paddington Goods Yard, which was demolished some years ago, and the site is now occupied by some dreadful modern constructions, and the elevated A40 Westway. I am fairly certain the photo was taken from the office building, where my father worked, which was between Westbourne Bridge and Bishop’s Bridge. The final photo shows the end of a Paddington station platform.
